RGS is now well into the multi-million pound building and development programme which was announced back in April 2013. This began with new offices and an entirely new reception space at the front of our main building, an extension to the Junior School and a new department for Classics teaching.
In September 2015, RGS Sport was unveiled: a major new state-of-the-art sports facility which includes a new six-lane 25-metre swimming pool, a second sports hall, a new fitness suite, a weights room, an aerobics dance studio, a new suite of sports offices and administration and changing rooms. The new building looks spectacular alongside the collection of fine buildings which surround the school playing field.
It doesn't stop there! We will be creating a major new building on the corner of Eskdale Terrace and Lambton Road (artist's impression pictured right) making significantly better use of the space available by demolishing the current 1930s-built swimming pool and changing-rooms. The new building will include an exciting state-of-the-art library, new lecture room, seminar rooms, IT hub and care centre encompassing pastoral and medical services for students - plus additional teaching space (including laboratories, effectively extending the Science and Technology Centre).
