We would like to use the survey results to understand your time at RGS; while it may be some years since you attended the school and we are conscious that today’s culture will be very different to the RGS of the past, we want to hear about your experiences which will inform how we support today's students. We are conscious of issues highlighted recently by the Black Lives Matter movement, #MeToo and Everyone's Invited and we are keen to understand ONs' experiences or perceptions of any type of discrimination while at school.
In addition to hearing your lived experience, the survey will help define the future of our Old Novocastrians’ Association, events and communications, as well as create new opportunities for you to access the benefits of the Old Novo network in the ways that suit you best. Importantly, we have an ambitious goal to have a more professional ONA with an expanded alumni programme, which reflects more fully the diversity and interests of today’s school community and, importantly, leads to more engagement to benefit Old Novos and the current school students. We are one community and we are stronger for our solidarity but we need your feedback and thoughts and ideas as we move forwards.
We need as many of you as possible to complete it if we are to understand more fully how our RGS community has come to be where it is, how the school’s strengths and weaknesses were seen in the past and therefore, by implication, some of the things we need to be addressing as we move forward. If, as we hope, you cherish RGS and the ONA and wish to see it evolve into a stronger and more purposeful organisation, please give it your time.
