A day at Ponteland range

A day at Ponteland range

The year nine Navy and Army cadets have trained all year to pass their weapons handling test. Supervised by the regular forces and CCF staff cadets fired live rounds. The range was 100yds and all the cadets had their shot groupings measured to determine the best marksmen. Fired from the prone position the cadets improved after each practise before the final groupings were taken. The weather was sunny with a cooling breeze and after a great shoot the cadets stripped and cleaned the rifles in the sunshine.
