Alice's School Games Success

Alice Cheesbrough was one of 48 athletes to represent England at the Sainsbury’s School Games 2014. This is a multi-sports event which is designed to reflect similar conditions to the Olympics and Commonwealth Games. There were 12 sports involved with over 1600 athletes.

In the hockey competition there were three teams representing England (White, Blue and Red) competing for a gold medal against a team from Scotland, Wales and Ulster. Alice’s team finished 4th which was the best performance from the England Girls’ teams. This is a fantastic achievement for Alice and recognition of all her hard work and determination within the AASE and NAGs Academy system.

Alice is now focused on making the U18 Pennine Puma’s Squad to represent the north at the forthcoming Futures Cup.

We look forward to more success in the hockey this year from both our individuals and representative teams.
