Cross-Country Kate continues to shine

Cross-Country Kate continues to shine

Year 11 student Kate Waugh is no stranger to sporting success and despite her young age has a string of prestigious accolades and achievements under her belt already. This month has been no exception... On 14th March in Blackburn, Kate qualified for the England Cross Country team. She then travelled to Dublin on 21st March and came 2nd in the SIAB International Cross Country winning team gold and individual silver.

Last Sunday in Corby, Northants Kate took gold in the U19 British Duathlon Championships (having won the U17 youth category last year). Kate's victory meant that she qualified to represent GB as a junior in the European Championships in Spain on 25th April, an opportunity which has has chosen to turn down to focus on her study commitments.

It has been a busy (not to mention tough!) season for Kate already and on 7th April she travels to Loughborough for a week's training camp, shortly followed by travelling to Llanelli and London in May to follow her goal of representing GB in Europe again in July.

A massive congratulations to Kate for all of her incredible achievements to date and good luck for the next few months!
