Gymnasts crowned national champions

U19 boys national championsOur gymnasts have once again excelled on the national stage winning two age group titles and finishing runners up in a third at the British Schools Gymnastics Milano Team National Finals held in Stoke-on-Trent.

The Milano Team National Finals sees teams from schools across the country compete on vault and floor in the competition with each individual's score combined within their team to give an overall score and placing for each school.

RGS took an unprecedented five teams to the finals with the girls' teams qualifying for the national finals for the very first time. The U19 and U13 boys teams were both crowned national champions, the U11 boys won silver, the U11 girls finished in 15th and the U19 girls finished in 13th. 

These results all contributed to the North region finishing 4th overall in the U11 boys, 9th in the U11 girls, winners in the U13 boys and 7th in the U19 girls.

U19 girls teamAll of the gymnasts performed tremendously well, demonstrating an exceptional level of teamwork and sportsmanship, which is a testament to their hard work and commitment to the sport.

Gymnastics at the RGS has been a well established sport for many years with teams and individuals winning numerous regional and national titles across the years.
