Gymnasts vault into the national finals

RGS gymnasts have once again displayed poise, strength and determination to reach the British Championships after a successful regional display.

Gymnasts from Year 4 through to Year 11 represented RGS as they travelled to Carlisle for the regional Floor, Vault and Trio Championships.

In a strong field, RGS Gymnasts excelled with all teams qualifying for the British Championships after finishing first or second respectively in their age groups.

The Under 11 girls (Gargi Mannikar, Aliza Hassan, Isabella Brown and Celia Talks, all Year 6 students) were competing for the very first time at this level and showed their amazing progress by winning the event.

There were wins for the Under 13 and Under 16 boys as well as the Under 16 mixed team, with the Under 11 boys and Under 13 girls both coming second.

The teams will now spend the next month adding some finesse to their routines as they prepare for nationals which will be held in Stoke on Trent in March.
