ICYMI RGS first past the post at athletics meet

Summer term was full of sporting performances left, right and centre, and with how busy the term was, we just gave you a summary of what had been happening in our Junior and Senior School Newsletters as well as via Twitter and Facebook. 

 

Here's our report from the Newcastle City Athletics Championships in June:

RGS lined up against some tough competition at the Newcastle City Athletics Championships with the hopes of winning both the boys and girls overall competition. The top four competitors in each event and the relay winners would qualify for the County Championships later that month.

An excellent competition for all our athletes which saw the girls win three individual events (800m, Cricket Ball and High Jump) as well as finishing second in the other four events. They finished joint top of the leader board for the overall title, however Gosforth Central had one more individual win and took the trophy ahead of us. The boys would do one better, with five individual titles and the overall championship.
