Leo takes gold at national championship

Swimmer, Leo Vinogradov, enjoyed triple success at this weekend’s Open British Finswimming Championship.

Leo won two gold medals and one silver medal for the 25 metre apnea, 50 metre surface monofin and 100 metre surface, respectively.

The Year 11 student has been training in monofin swimming for over five years. He holds seven national junior records, two of which he achieved last spring at the Word Finswimming Cup in Lingano, Italy.

Speaking about Leo’s success, his parents, said: “We are very proud of Leo competing well this weekend against very strong swimmers from Estonia, especially after a week of mock GCSEs at which he has made every effort to do his best as well.”
