RGS host the Will Welch Cup

This Saturday, 3rd February, will see RGS host 11 schools from across the country for the Will Welch Cup, part of the Gilbert HMC 7s series.

The Will Welch Cup is hosted by RGS every two years and sees 12 of the top rugby-playing schools in North England compete for honours at Under 16 level. 2015/16 cup winners were Durham School, with Woodhouse Grove winning the plate competition. 

The first round starts at 11am at our Mooracres fields: Durham face Mount St Mary's on pitch 1; Bede take on Dame Allan's on pitch 2; and RGS line up against Yarm on pitch 3. For the full schedule, please see the digital programme

Group 1: RGS, Durham School, Mount St Mary's, Yarm School, Bede Academy, Dame Allans.

Group 2: Sedbergh, Worksop College, St Peter's School, Stonyhurst College, Newcastle School for Boys, Barnard Castle.
