Students raise the roof at Wansbeck Music Festival

The Wansbeck Music Festival is a firm fixture in our event calendar and our students love attending and performing at it.

The festival is a superb competition that allows our students to showcase their talents and put all their hard work into practice by performing in front of an audience and be judged by a panel of leading experts.

This year was an exceptional year for all of our performers as they managed to win a number of titles:

- Our Blue Blazer Choir won the Choir under 16 category, being awarded a distinction.

- Grace Stobart (Year 8), won the Vocal Solo for boys and girls under 18 category, being awarded a distinction.

- Oliver Waterhouse (Year 11), won the Piano Solo title and was awarded The Elizabeth Spowart Rose Bowl.

- The Stobart sisters (Grace and Hannah, Year 8, and Imogen and Honor, Year 7), stole the show in 2017 with their stunning solos and quartet performances, and they were excellent once again in 2018, winning the String Quartet (under 13) category and were also presented with the Cecil Dunn Cup.

To celebrate their achievements, all the soloists, the quartet and the choir were invited to perform at the Festival's closing concert, which was a wonderful celebration of the Festival and a fitting end to this year's event.
