Riding club jumps to success

The RGS riding club team recently competed at the Floors Castle International Horse Trials in the National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) competition.

Riders from St. Andrews, Scotland to Leeds travelled to Floors Castle, Kelso to compete with some 180 rounds jumped.

The RGS team of Carolyn Dickson and Annie (Year 10), Charlotte Currie and Pudsie (Year 10), Libby Chrisp and Buzzby (Year 7) and Emily Scott and Blaze (Year 8), jumped amazingly to score their highest ever placing in a team competition, finishing fifth and receiving ribbons for their placing.

Sarah Hutchinson, who runs the team was ecstatic with the results having used the competition as an opportunity to build up the team's experience in a competitive environment.
She said,

'All four girls jumped so well in a very tough competition with excellent riders from Scotland and North England.

'I'm extremely proud of them receiving ribbons and look forward to our next competition and seeing what can be achieved.'
