Stellar performance from our GCSE students

Stellar performance from our GCSE students

Our GCSE students have produced a stellar set of results, with 62.5% of grades at the old A* equivalent and 83.4% of grades at A*/A equivalent.

In what is just the second year for students to have taken the 9-1 style exams, 39.9% achieved grade 9 (the top grade) with 23.2% achieving grade 8. In total, 83.4% of grades were at grade 7 or better.

Of the 142 students in the year group, 13 achieved all A* or grade 9, with 33 in total achieving grades 8 or 9 or A*, a remarkable feat given the more challenging nature of the new style exams.

Speaking about the results, Deputy Head Academic, Roger Loxley, said: “Our students have once again produced an outstanding set of results and we are delighted for each and every one of them.

“These astonishing achievements reflect the hard work each student has undertaken over the last two years, alongside the excellent teaching and support they received from their teachers and the school.

“This set of results bodes well for the A Levels in two years and we’re looking forward to nurturing the students through the next step of their academic journey.”
