Students Excel in Choral and Orchestral Concert

This year’s Choral and Orchestral Concert certainly saw students dazzle with their polished performances.  Trumpeter Will Wathey (Y13) and the RGS Symphony Orchestra gave a stylish account of the third movement of Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto in E flat major.
This was followed by equally impressive performances of Dvorak's Slavonic Dance No. 72 No. 2 and March of the Toreadors from Bizet’s Carmen.
The growth in choral music at RGS was reflected in both the evening’s programme and the quality of music enjoyed in the Main Hall.  In their first combined performance, the RGS Community and Senior Choirs and the RGS Community Orchestra gave an outstanding performance of Handel’s Zadok The Priest and Jenkins’ The Armed Man under the direction of Mr Key and Mr Fazlic.
