Success in the pool for Lola

Success in the pool for Lola

Year 9 student Lola Davison has been making waves in the pool with some fantastic performances over the summer which have seen her selected for the England Talent Programme for the second consecutive year.

Lola qualified for four separate events, 50m, 100m, 200m and 400m freestyle, at the ASA National Championships held at Ponds Forge, Sheffield over the summer. She swam fantastically in the heats to make it through to two finals: 200m and 400m freestyle.

The 200m final was up first and Lola had a superb swim and touched in to take the silver medal with a personal best time of 2.09.44, a great achievement and a good grounding for the upcoming 400m final.

Lola had set a very good personal best in the heats for the 400m freestyle and following her silver medal in the 200m, was full of confidence going into this final. That confidence certainly helped as she again smashed her personal best to become ASA National Champion with a time of 4.32.00.

An emphatic summer for Lola and the School will be following her progress with great attention as she progresses through the England Talent Programme.
