Talented musicians wow at recital

30 students from Year 4 right through to Year 13 wowed the audience of proud parents, staff and fellow students at the Autumn recital, performing some superb pieces.

Many of the students were performing for the first time to an audience and handled themselves with great pride and esteem, delivering polished performances. Those students who were more established musicians demonstrated their knowledge and skill tackling new repertoires.

Highlights from the evening include: Daniel Read's (Year 5) classical guitar performance of Camel Train by P. Nuttall, Alistair McClure's (Year 5) piano playing of Gospel Fair by M.Schmitz, Grace Stobart's (Year 7) singing of Cast Your Shade by J.B.Lully, Millie Robson's (Year 10) viola playing of Moto Perpetuo by C. Bohm, Amanda Chakkoria's (Year 10) singing of Dido's Lament by H. Purcell, James Ferrier's (Year 13) flute playing of Allegretto by P.Taffanel and Rosie Kat's (Year 13) singing of Let the Bright Seraphim by G.F. Handel.

The talent on show would not be were they are without the help and guidance of not only our Music department, but also our visiting music teachers who prepared all the students so well for their performances.
