Teaching and Learning Blog

RGS Staff have been exploring a new way of sharing ideas this year. Our Teaching and Learning blog went live in April and has reached 3000 hits already.

Each week we upload 3 or 4 posts, on a range of topics:

- teaching ideas

- an external ‘blog of the week

- educational book reviews

- mini-teachmeet summaries (our ‘pop-up’ voluntary CPD sessions – hosted by RGS teachers)

So far, several colleagues have contributed and several more are in the process of writing up their best ideas from the teaching year. To illustrate the power of the educational blogging community, the co-author of the educational research book of the moment, Visible Learning,  commented on Phil Heath’s (Head of Biology) book review (here) from his home in Australia. It will be interesting to see where the blog takes us in the future.
