Toby qualifies for Europeans

Year 6 student Toby Aberdeen recently qualified to compete at the European Championships in Triathle.

Triathle is part of the Modern Pentathlon family, which sees athletes compete in a continuous shoot, swim and run event.

Toby travelled to Dorset to compete in his first ever competition and what a learning curve he went on (and very quickly!) Having studied the course brief and rehearsing the transition and shoot phases of the event, Toby went into the competition with plenty of determination and enthusiasm. He dominated the shooting phase, with great accuracy, and this helped him to finish in 5th place and guarantees him a spot in the Under 13 Great Britain team for the European Championships which will be held in July in Portugal.

A super achievement for Toby who not only achieved qualification in his first ever Triathle, but he was also competing against boys who were three years older than him.
