World Challenge Training Weekend

40 Lower Sixth students spent a recent weekend in the Lake District as part of their preparation for the forthcoming World Challenge trip to northern India. The teams camped in Great Langdale and were instructed in the finer points of campcraft and river crossings by Jon, Julie and Martyn. The following day two teams made the trek over to Borrowdale via Glaramara but one had a very long day out over Scafell Pike. Their headtorches could be seen snaking down the final descent long after dark! It was a great trip and the students gained lots of practical advice which should help them to conquer Stok Kangri (6153m, 20,182ft – pictured below) in July. Good luck to all the challengers!
