Year 11 visit London's glittering West End

Year 11 Drama students began their school year in earnest by taking a trip to London on the last few days of their summer holidays.

Visiting some of London's most revered theatres, they enjoyed 48 hours in the capital packed with stunning stage shows.

First on the list was the performance of Jez Butterworth's new play The Ferryman, which is receiving rave reviews and standing ovations from audiences. The students thoroughly enjoyed the play and it was certainly a topic of conversation for the rest of the trip.

Next up was a hop across the river for a tour of the National Theatre giving the students plenty of insight into the workings of the venue. After this (as the heavens opened), the group ventured along to The Globe theatre for a very soggy performance of Much ado About Nothing

The rain certainly didn't stamp on the students spirits and they rounded off their brief, but jam-packed theatre tour watching the world-famous Les Miserables
