Year 7 Wellbeing Day

Year 7 Wellbeing Day

Year 7 students had a productive day last Friday (26th September) for their Wellbeing Day. Whilst off timetable they were treated to a selection of talks and workshops on Puberty and Growing Up, Healthy Living and Bullying. Talks were delivered by a variety of speakers including school staff and prefects during their single-sex puberty workshops as well as Ed Laschet from the charity Living Streets and Rob Higgs, an anti-bullying campaigner. In the afternoon the whole year group went to Gibside Hall where students got to experience orienteering, den building and a low ropes course. The sun was shining and a great day was had by all! Wellbeing Days are an annual event for all year groups and are designed to support PSHE lessons as well as provide students with the time and opportunity to think about issues affecting their daily lives and emotional and physical health. They will also be happening on the following dates: Year 8: 12th November 2014, Year 9: 4th February 2015, Year 10: 25th February 2015, Year 11: 11th March 2015.
