Youngsters compete in regional Maths challenge

Year 10 students from RGS recently competed at the Regional Further Maths Support Programme, Year 10 Challenge.

The challenge is open to young students who have a keen interest in maths outside of the syllabus and sees students using a combinations of skills such as mathematical, communication and teamwork to complete the challenge.

Maartje Wisse, Joseph Dalton, Abel Harvie-Clark and Shahmeer Hassan worked incredibly hard throughout the challenge and their efforts were rewarded with second place.

Maths teacher Caroline Pridmore praised the efforts of the group. She said,

'What a fantastic achievement for these students. There were a lot of talented students competing for the title and to come second is no mean feat. Well done to Maartje, Joseph, Abel and Shahmeer.'
