Junior School Overview

The RGS Junior School has developed significantly in recent years and is now home to over 260 pupils, with three classes in each year group from Year 3 to Year 6.

From the moment children join, they become part of a vibrant and supportive community, where academic challenge is balanced with a genuine focus on confidence, curiosity and individual wellbeing.

Our Junior School offers a modern, ambitious education, delivered by a dedicated and energetic teaching team who know each pupil well and are committed to helping them develop their full potential. Alongside the classroom, a wide range of co-curricular opportunities allows pupils to explore new interests, build independence and grow in confidence.

We are proud that this broad and balanced approach has been recognised nationally, with the Junior School recently ranked 6th in The Sunday Times Top 100 Prep Schools.

However, what truly defines the Junior School is its place within the wider RGS community. The ethos of “One School, One Team” is something pupils experience from their earliest years, creating a strong sense of belonging and preparing them naturally for the next stage of their RGS journey.
