OLD NOVOCASTRIANS FROM EVERY GENERATION CELEBRATE THE SCHOOLS' QUINCENTENARY WITH THE BIGGEST LONDON ONA DINNER TO DATE.
The Old Novocastrians Association (ONA) London Dinner on the 13th of March 2025 was a truly memorable occasion, bringing together a vibrant cross-section of our alumni community. The evening was a testament to the enduring bonds forged at our Newcastle homeland, with Old Novos spanning generations and representing a remarkable array of interests and professions filling the room.
Beyond the delightful social atmosphere, it was particularly encouraging to witness the strong sense of connection and support within the ON network. Many of our younger alumni actively engaged with more established members, seeking guidance and sharing experiences. This spirit of giving back and mentorship is invaluable to the continued strength of the RGS network, and we extend our sincere gratitude to all who contribute to this vital aspect of our community. We eagerly anticipate seeing the next generation continue this tradition of support.
A highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the insightful and thought-provoking address delivered by our guest speaker, Dr Amrit Ray. His presence, requiring a significant journey from the United States, was deeply appreciated by all in attendance. The ONA community offers its heartfelt thanks to Dr Ray for his valuable contribution to the evening.
We encourage attendees to share any feedback they may have on the event, as well as any photographs captured throughout the evening, by emailing them to us at development@rgs.newcastle.sch.uk.
Mark your calendars for our next major gathering: the RGS Garden Party on Saturday, 21st of June. Tickets are now available for purchase here.
We would also like to remind our London-based alumni, and those further afield, about the Newcastle ONA Dinner on Friday, 10th of October. This year's event will also incorporate reunions for the Class of 2015, 2005, 1995, 1985, 1975, 1965 & 1955. Our guest speaker for the evening will be Sir Max Hill, and given the anticipated interest, we strongly encourage early booking to avoid disappointment. Ticket information is here.
Returning to Dr Ray's inspiring words, we are all stakeholders in the continued success and impact of the school that has played such a significant role in our lives. We invite you to consider how you might contribute to supporting RGS's social impact, both now and in the future. Details about our 500 Club and Quincentenary Club, which offer a unique opportunity to have your name permanently recognized at RGS, can be found on our website.
