RGS Sixth Form Launches First BTEC Qualification

BUILDING ON THE MOMENTUM OF THE INTRODUCTION OF A-LEVEL BUSINESS STUDIES AND PHOTOGRAPHY, RGS SIXTH FORM IS EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THE INTRODUCTION OF BTEC LEVEL 3 NATIONAL DIPLOMA IN SPORT AND EXERCISE SCIENCE FROM SEPTEMBER 2026.

This is the first time the school will offer a BTEC qualification. This new course is intended to complement our established and extensive A-Level programme, which is amongst the widest in the North East.  

Miss Enevoldson, Head of RGS Sixth Form, said: “This new BTEC provides a rigorous but applied pathway for students with a strong interest in sport and exercise science.   

"Equivalent to two A-Levels, at RGS, students can study our new BTEC alongside one other A-Level subject of choice, ensuring that they graduate with three qualifications, recognised by the most competitive universities and employers."
