Student Leadership: Senior Prefects and Head Students 2026/27

WE ARE DELIGHTED TO ANNOUNCE THE 2026/27 SENIOR PREFECTS AND HEAD STUDENTS WHO WILL HELP TO AMPLIFY, SUPPORT AND FOSTER THE RGS STUDENT VOICE.

Senior Prefects 2026-27

Miss Enevoldson, Head of RGS Sixth Form, said: "With so many talented individuals in Year 12, selecting our Senior Prefects and Head Students has been a challenging but rewarding process. I am confident that those appointed demonstrate the maturity, commitment and leadership required for these important roles.

"As a school, we would like to thank our outgoing Head Students, Dan and Ayesha, for their significant contribution over the past year - not only through public representation of the school, but also through their invaluable work behind the scenes, from chairing the School Council to coordinating the Senior Prefect team. As they now turn their attention to their A-Level examinations, we wish them every success.

"The Sixth Form team and I very much look forward to working with our newly appointed Prefects as they take on a wide range of responsibilities across the school in the coming academic year."

Head Students

Bobbie D steps into the role of Head Students with a clear dedication to championing the school’s ethos, while inspiring younger pupils through kindness and approachability.

"As I begin my new role, I bring a commitment to championing the school’s ethos and to representing RGS Newcastle with enthusiasm and integrity.

"I hope to inspire younger pupils by being a friendly and kind role model, and by helping to ensure that everyone feels included and that they truly belong. I am so excited to work alongside the Senior Prefect team to achieve this and to serve the whole school community."

As Head Student, Orran L aims to combine his enthusiasm for school life with meeting and supporting students across the school.

"Becoming Head Student offers a meaningful opportunity for me to give back to RGS Newcastle in a positive way. A key aim of mine is to promote more open communication between younger and older students, while encouraging greater leadership opportunities through mentoring and support across year groups.

"Building on this, I wish to further strengthen the school's inclusive sense of belonging for all students and encourage active participation in Co-Curricular life. Connecting with Old Novocastrians to learn about their experiences and future paths beyond RGS is also something I am looking forward to, alongside getting to know even more students across the RGS community."

Senior Prefects

Each prefect has a specific role and rises to the challenge of further developing their area through innovative thinking, leadership and working closely with senior staff helping to continually enhance school life.

Alongside their individual projects and initiatives, prefects offer students across RGS guidance and support, from exam preparation to insights into life in RGS Sixth Form, as well as listening to their concerns, questions and championing their ideas.
