PERSONAL ASSISTANT TO THE DEPUTY HEAD TEAM 

We have an exciting and unique opportunity for the right person to join us as a Personal Assistant to the team of Deputy Heads based in the Senior School. This role is to provide appropriate and constructive support and includes administrative and project-based tasks involving day to day operational issues, as well as being involved in the forward planning of key calendar events.

The PA is expected to take a keen interest in the work of the Deputy Head team and to provide constructive and appropriate support. Discretion and confidentiality are essential attributes. There may be a great deal of direct contact with parents, students and staff, and many aspects of the role are critical to the academic, co-curricular, and pastoral life of the school. The post holder will be expected to uphold and communicate the values of RGS.

The PA is responsible directly to the Senior School Deputy Head team, assisting them with all aspects of their work. The Deputy Heads are made up of the Senior Deputy Head, Deputy Head Pastoral, Deputy Head Academic, and Deputy Head Co-Curricular. RGS is a vibrant school, the successful candidate will need to be able to work flexibly and show a good use of initiative. Experience of working in a school is desirable but not essential.

Hours: The role is term time only plus 4 additional staff training days. The successful candidate will also be expected to work the compulsory safeguarding training day at the start of each academic year. The normal working hours for this role will be 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am until 4.30pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.

Salary: In the region of £25-28k gross per annum (FTE), pro rata £19-22k, however the actual salary will reflect the experience and skills offered by the successful applicant.

SENIOR SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION & PROCUREMENT COORDINATOR

Required from mid/late May 2024

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, efficient, and organised individual to join the school’s Office Team. The role would be ideal for someone with excellent organisational and communication skills that is also able to negotiate with suppliers. This is a varied role which will be suited to a proactive individual who can be adaptable to the changing requirements of the school office and receptions, on a daily basis.

This is a key role in the Support Staff Team which coordinates the ebbs and flows in the office work and ensure people get time for training and development. Ideally this also allow us to create a structure that means each person has a natural 'second' to help with cover and collaboration when needed, and to empower each individual / sub team to take ownership of their area of responsibilities and develop it.

The successful candidate will work to support the efficient day-to-day running of the School’s Office, oversee the reception provision in school, as well as drive efficiencies through more centralised procurement.

Hours: This is a permanent full time, full year post. The normal working hours will be 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am until 4.30pm (7.5 hours per day) with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break but there may be occasions where the employee is required to be flexible regarding start/end times to support keys functions of the school e.g., reception.

Salary: A starting salary will be in the range of c£25-32k gross per annum, however the actual salary will reflect the experience and skills offered by the successful applicant.
