Teaching Staff Vacancies

Physics Teacher (with outreach)

Physics Teacher (with outreach)

We have a really exciting new opportunity for a qualified teacher of Physics to join our dynamic and successful Physics department. The role will be two-fold: teaching students from Year 7 through to A-Level/Oxbridge in our school and also working with students and teachers from other local schools teaching Physics and promoting Engineering.

This post will operate in conjunction with the Reece Foundation. The initial expectation is that you will be based at RGS and will teach 0.4 at our school. The remaining 0.6 of teaching time will be spent in other state schools teaching students there and helping to improve the skills of non-specialist Physics teachers.

Being ‘willing to go the extra mile’ is a major part of the role for all teachers at the RGS, not merely in specialist activities, but in a huge range of extra-curricular sporting, artistic and cultural work. We are keen to invite applications from those who would like to make their own distinctive contribution to this ethos. We very much value colleagues who are willing to contribute to our extra-curricular programme. An ability to contribute to other sciences might also be desirable.

We have our own salary scale (which is above national pay scales for teachers) and provide NQTs with an appropriate programme of induction leading to QTS.

Given the timing of this appointment in the school year, we would welcome early applications and, if suitable, we would be willing to appoint someone before the closing date.

Closing date: 9am, Friday 6th November (or earlier)
