Applications for September 2026 entry to RGS Senior School are now closed.
Families are warmly encouraged to submit applications for September 2027 and future entry years, following the same admissions process as this year. Early applications help ensure you can take part in key admissions activities.

Families apply for Senior School at different times - some well in advance, others mid-year - and we are here to support you whenever you begin your RGS journey.

This online session is a friendly and informative introduction to life at RGS and our admissions process, designed for families at any stage of their journey.
Year 7 Admissions Process
Applicants for Year 7 entry will take part in an online aptitude assessment designed to evaluate their skills in:
- Mathematics
- Verbal and non-verbal reasoning
- English comprehension and literacy
This assessment is taken on a desktop PC at RGS. Following the test, a number of children are invited back to participate in an informal group activity session. This is a relaxed and enjoyable opportunity for us to get to know them better, observe how they interact with others, and assess their potential to thrive at RGS.
We also request a confidential report from each applicant’s current school, which helps us build a fuller picture of their academic progress and character.
Admissions Timeline for 2027 Entry
Our process for applications for 2027 entry will follow the same structure as recent years, including:
- Application submission
- Year 7 Assessment Day
- Year 7 Activity Day
- Offers emailed
Confirmed dates will be published once finalised. Families who register as enquirers will receive these automatically.
Other Entry Points
While Year 7 is our main intake year, we occasionally have places available in other year groups. Entry into these years is subject to availability. We encourage families to contact Ali Perry - our Head of Admissions - to discuss current opportunities.
Bursaries and Financial Assistance
