Senior School Admissions

Joining RGS Senior School
We are delighted to welcome new students into our Senior School, with the main entry point being Year 7 (age 11). Each year, we admit approximately 72 students from a wide range of primary schools, alongside 72 students progressing from RGS Junior School, creating a vibrant and diverse cohort.
Year 7 Admissions Process
Applicants for Year 7 entry will take part in an online aptitude assessment designed to evaluate their skills in:
- Mathematics
- Verbal and non-verbal reasoning
- English comprehension and literacy
This assessment is taken on a desktop PC at RGS. Following the test, a number of children are invited back to participate in an informal group activity session. This is a relaxed and enjoyable opportunity for us to get to know them better, observe how they interact with others, and assess their potential to thrive at RGS.
We also request a confidential report from each applicant’s current school, which helps us build a fuller picture of their academic progress and character.
