Digital Literacy
Whilst we want our students to embrace the internet, and the many fantastic resources it provides, we are also keen to equip them with the information, protection, and experience they need to remain safe whilst online, whether this is on the internet, using social media or other online platforms. As a parent you can play a significant part in ensuring their safety, too. We hope that the information and links contained in this page may help to keep you, as a parent, informed as to how they can stay safe online.
Things to consider
- Talk with your child regularly about what they are doing online
- Explore the internet together
- Know who your child is talking to online
- Make sure that what your child is watching is age-appropriate
- Set rules and boundaries, explaining why they are useful
- Use parental controls on equipment to filter, restrict, monitor and report content
